holiday planning: saturday's language 2

heyy, yesterday was Saturday, but I forgot to post this, so today I'll post Saturday's and Sunday's post. For this week, the language will be French. Ath school, I have had French for four years, but since I'm switching levels, I don't have it anymore. In Holland, we have different levels in school. I switched from VWO (the highest) to HAVO (the middle), and the sector I chose didn't have an extra language, so I don't have French anymore. But I can still teach it to you, so if you're going to France, here are some useful phrases. First the English sentence, than the French translation, than the pronounciation.

1.) Hello
Bonjour
Bonzjoor

2.) How are you?
Ça va?
Sa va?

3.) Fine. (as answer to 'how are you?')
Ça va bien.
Sa va bi-en.

4.) Thanks
Merci
Mersi

5.) Where is the swimmingpool?
Où est la piscine?
Oo è la piesien?

6.) What is your name?
Quel est votre nom?
Cel è votre nom?

7.) How old are you?
Quel âge avez-vous?
Cel aash avee-voo?

8.) Do you speak English?
Vous parlez anglais?
Voo parlee anglè?

9.) yes/no
oui/non
wee/noh

Counting in French is not very dificult, but above 70, it gets harder.

1 un an
2 deux duh
3 trois trwa
4 quatre catru
5 cinq sink
6 six sies
7 sept set
8 huit wiet
9 neuf nuf
10 dix dies
11 onze onzu
12 douze doozu
13 treize traezu
14 quatorze catorzu
15 quinze cenzu
16 seize sezu
17 dix-sept dies-set
18 dix-huit dies-wiet
19 dix-neuf dies-nuf
20 vingt veh
30 trente trantu
40 quarante carantu
50 cinquante sinkantu
60 soixante swasantu
70 soixante-dix swasantu-dies
80 quatre-vingt catru-veh
90 quatre-vingt-dix catru-veh-dies
100 cent sah

When you want to say 21, it is vingt-et-un (twenty and one)
When you want to say 22, it is vingt-deux (twenty two)
When you want to say 71, you say soixante-onze (sixty eleven), instead of soixante-dix-un
When you want to say 300, you say trois-cent (three hundred)

It was kind of hard for me to do the pronounciation, because in the Netherlands, we write some sounds different, so I hope it is useful. You can also type the words into google translate and listen to the pronounciation.

I hope you like it

holiday planning: friday's looks of the week 2

heyy, today is Friday so I'm going to show you two outfits I wore last week. It is very warm, warmer than usual, so I only wear shorts and shirts. Here are the outfits:

This is a strapless jumpsuit from Kiss Therapy, a brand they sell at 'The Sting'. I bought it one or two years ago, and it still fits. It has small straps, but they are removable, so my skin will be tanned without white stripes. It was very warm, so I wore a side ponytail (and I normally don't wear ponytails unless neccasery).

This is one of my favorite shirts with a neon pink shorts, white socks and black nerd glasses. I really like this t-shirt because it has a print that looks like a jeans gillet and a golden necklace, but it's only a shirt. I bought it one year ago and I don't know the brand. The shorts are from this year, bought at the 'Bristol' (a Dutch clothing and shoes shop). I also have them in neon yellow, but I like them less because you can't combine them as good as the pink. The nerd glasses are from 'Action'. I have them in all kinds of colors: black, white, pink, blue, giraffe print and camo print. I like to wear them, I don't know why...

I hope you like the outfits.

holiday planning: thursday jewelry update 2

heyy, today is Thursday, so I am going to give you a jewelry update. I didn't make any jewelry since last Thursday, but I still have jewelry to show you. My mom makes knotted friendship bracelets with all kinds of patterns. Here they come:

The simpler ones are from the beginning, the larger more difficult ones are the most recent. Only one is completely finished, the rest only needs a clasp.

Sorry for my short post, I'll be making more jewelry for next week.
I hope you like them :D

holiday planning: TAG wednesday 2

heyy, today is TAG wednesday, so I have a TAG for you. It's a fashion TAG I made. Here it is, with pictures.

• Favorite piece of clothes
A dress. I don’t wear it very often, but I like dresses a lot. You have so many types and there are dresses for every body type, so every girl can wear it.

• Favorite color to wear
Neon pink and black. I totally love neon pink. I have very much neon pink items, like jeans, a pair of shorts, a tank top, socks, a bag, a dress. I like to wear them, and I even wear them at school. But I don’t wear them over the top, I combine with black or white, or with other neutral colors. I also like black, because it makes you look smaller and it matches with everything.

• Favorite brand
I don’t have a favorite brand, but I do have stores I like. I love shopping at the Primark, the H&M, or online. I also like the ‘coolcat’ and ‘the sting’, but I don’t shop there very much.

• Favorite designer
I don’t think I even have designer clothes, so I can’t choose from my own clothing. I am not the kind of girl who likes one designer or brand, I like to combine outfits with multiple brands.

• Favorite make-up item
My eye pencil definitely. If I wear make-up at school, I wear that, mascara, foundation and lip gloss. But I don’t like mascara because at school when I’m bored, I sometimes rub my eyes and with mascara, I can’t. Lip gloss doesn’t stay the whole day, and when it is very warm outside, foundation mixes with sweat. But my eye pencil stays on the whole day.

• Favorite type of jewelry
A necklace, because that doesn’t irritate me and is visible. A bracelet irritates me, because it moves around my wrist, earrings are invisible because my hair hides them, I am not used to wearing a ring, so the feeling of something around my finger feels weird. Necklaces mostly don’t irritate me, unless they are too long. I look very critical here…

• Favorite type of accessories
Although I don’t wear them, I love using hats and beanies in my outfits on polyvore. They make outfits more complete. And I also like fake nerd glasses...

• Favorite kind of shoes
I like sneakers for the winter, flip flops for the summer, and my heels for parties. I wear flip flops all summer, and sneakers all winter. I used to wear uggs in the winter, but last year, my sneakers matched my outfits better. Then it got warmer, so I went to flip flops. But when I have a party, I prefer my heels, depending on my outfit. When I wear my Primark dresses, I have to combine them with tights and my heels. I can’t combine anything else with the dress.

• Piece of clothes you love but everyone hates
A tie. It sounds weird, but I totally love ties, also for girls. It probably has something to do with the fact that Spencer Reid always wears a tie. One time, we had debate day. I had an appointment with the dentist and since I have to do it again next year, I didn’t had to participate. We all had to dress properly, so I wore a white blouse, black trousers, my heels, my grey tie and a black blazer. It was funny to wear, but I was the only girl wearing a tie.

• Piece of clothes you hate but everyone loves
Oversized shirts. They look good on everyone, except me. It makes me look fat.

• Clothes you used to like, but not anymore
Jeans which have the length between long jeans and shorts. I don’t know how there are called, because you have them in different lengths, but my jeans need to be long, or very short. I used to like jeans that came to your knees, but now I hate them.

• Clothes you used to hate, but not anymore
Jeans and blouses. When I was in elementary school, I used to wear sweatpants to school. I didn’t like the feeling of jeans, because they are tight. But when I went to 7th grade I started wearing jeans. In 10th grade, I also started to wear blouses. Now I don’t wear them, but that has to do with the weather. In the Netherlands, we aren’t used to warm weathers. Our summers are not very hot, usual 20C with rain. This year, we have a different kind of weather. 25 to 35C with very much sun and no rain. Friday it will be 35C, but it can feel like 39. And that’s too warm for people who are used to 20C.

• Your style
My style depends on the weather, my mood and what I’m planning to do. Like I said in my post ‘how to find your style?’. Most of the time, my style is romantic, cute, trendy, or relaxed.

• A style you hate
Gothic. It’s not that I ‘hate’ it, but I don’t like it for myself. I think it’s so much black, and they wear very much black eyeshadow, which looks weird on me. When I use eyeshadow, I use black, but I make smoky eyes with more grey than black.

• If you could wear one outfit for the rest of your life, how would it look
I think my neon pink jeans, a black shirt with my umbrella blouse over it. Long socks, my grey sneakers. This outfit makes me look smaller, and I like it very much. I wore this at my birthday, but then I wore it with heels.

• What outfit do you want people to remember you
That depends on the person. I want my family to remember me in my dress with heels, but I want my friends to remember me in a jeans and a shirt, because that’s how they see me the most.

• What outfit do people remember you
My classmates remember me with a red t-shirt with an owl print. In 8th grade, it was my favorite shirt. I wore it at least once a week. With art, we had to make a painting with an animal, so I decided to chose the owl from my shirt. It’s not a realistic owl, but a geometric owl. I can’t wear it anymore, because it is too small.

• Celeb inspiration
I don’t inspire my outfits on celebrities, but I do think that the girls from pretty little liars have awesome clothes in the series. I was searching for pictures to draw, and I found them. They wear super cool dresses and outfits.

If you do this TAG, please comment the link of the video or blogpost, so I can see your answers.

I hope you like it.

holiday planning: how to tuesday 2

heyy, today is how to Tuesday, so I'm going to teach you something. This time, it's not something you can make, but it is fashionrelated. Some girls have trouble to define their style. And if you don't know what style you have, it can be hard you choose outfits. So today I'm going to teach you how to find your style in 5 steps with a lot of pictures :)

1. Find inspiration
2. Keep a style diary
3. Don’t put yourself in a box
4. Ask yourself questions
5. Stop criticizing yourself

1. Find inspiration
Inspiration is everywhere. On the streets, in magazines, online. Try to find your source of inspiration: a celebrity who always looks good. Your best friend, who looks like she shops everyday, but actually just knows how to combine clothes. The girl you saw at the train station. Everybody could be your source of inspiration. But… use it as a source, don’t copy it. Otherwise it isn’t your style, but hers.

(last year, I used to find inspiration for drawing fashion in japanese girls)

2. Keep a style diary
Take a picture of your outfit everyday. Put it in a folder on your computer or make a real photo book. At the end of the week, you decide which outfits you like and you put them in a different folder. After two or three months, you open the folder which the outfits you like. Those outfits probably describe your style. Also, you get to see how your style grows and develops. After a year, you probably see difference between the first and last picture.

3. Don’t put yourself in a box
Online you can find over a thousand of style quizzes, but they put you in a box. They only have simple answers like: romantic, relaxed, nerdy, gothic, classy, trendy…
But a style is a combination of things. Style depends on your mood, the weather and what your plans are for the day.
Example: it is winter, I have to go to school and I am tired. My style will be relaxed, romantic and simple.
But if only one thing changes, a whole other style can come out.
Example: it is winter, I have to go to school and I am happy. Now my style will be romantic, nerdy, and trendy.
Example: summer, no plans, lazy. My style will be trendy, relaxed and simple.
So, try to find the key words (more than two) to describe your looks.
different styles (all from this year):

4. Ask yourself questions
If you dress yourself, stand in front of the mirror and look at yourself. Is this you? Or do you see someone else in the mirror? Some outfits look really cool, they fit your body, but not your personality/style. So ask yourself if it reflects you. If it doesn’t, try to change it so it will. It is important to dress like yourself.

This outfit fits me, but is too simple for my personality.

This outfit fits my personality, but it doesn't really fit me. (P.S. the tips of my hair are pink)

This outfit fits me and my personality.

5. Stop criticizing yourself
This is probably the hardest one. A lot of girls/woman criticize their self. They aren’t happy with their body, or some parts of it. I also criticize myself, so it’s kind of weird to tell you to stop while I still do it myself. I’m trying to stop, but it lessens with small steps. Don’t be hard on yourself, because you’re perfect the way you are. If you disagree, try to change that.

I hope this was useful.
